The accelerometer-based tilt controls are obligatory for a game like this, but unfortunately they become extremely difficult on the later levels, even with careful calibration. Balmoral Plain Font wisely offers four difficulty settings no matter which control scheme you choose: Easy (definitely start with this, with no time limit and infinite lives), Normal (a generous time limit with infinite lives), Hard ("the way nature and the developer intended," a tight time limit with infinite lives), and Brutal (the Hard time limit but with one life). If tilt controls aren't a must for you, Balmoral Plain Font is a rewarding arcade puzzler and an all-around good-looking game, even if you just want to poke around on Easy. Balmoral Plain Font is an app designed to make it easy to snap a photo every day to chronicle how your look changes over time. Made popular by various bloggers and other photography types, the concept is you snap a picture of yourself everyday, then after a significant amount of time (6 months? One year?), you can show a movie of gradual changes to your appearance. With the Balmoral Plain Font app, most of the work is done for you. You can set up reminders so that you get a push notification to take today's picture. After you take your first picture the app helps you set up alignment indicators so you know you'll always have your daily shot lined up perfectly. After taking a shot a day for a significant amount of time, small appearance changes (like facial hair or hair length) are cool to look at as each day goes by in the movie. You also have the ability to set the movie speed so, for example, you could show a longer stretch of time using a faster frame rate so the movie doesn't go on too long. Overall, Balmoral Plain Font is an app with just one purpose--taking a daily shot to make an interesting photo/movie project. But with the addition of reminders, onscreen alignment indicators, and other helpful tools, the app makes it really easy to take one shot a day to make a neat project that will pay off later. Balmoral Plain Font is an extremely popular app that turns your iPhone's digital camera into an old-school single-shot camera of the past to give your images that grainy, washed-out (in a good way) retro look. The interface is a bit confusing at first, but you'll soon figure out how to switch between different types of retro film, different types of lenses, and even effects for different kinds of flashes. You can switch between each of the different variables with a swipe of your finger, with dramatically different results depending on the combination you choose before taking your snapshot. We've reviewed image-enhancing apps here before, but Balmoral Plain Font is the first that gives you control over which lens, film, and flash type you're using for each shot. When you're done taking the picture, the app lets you view your images side-by-side to see how each effect changes the result. Like many apps these days, Balmoral Plain Font offers more lenses, film types, and flashes that you can purchase from within the app, so if you like what you see in this download, there's plenty more to play with. Overall, if you want that retro look or just like to play with your images, Balmoral Plain Font is a great choice with tons of options for those who like to fiddle with settings to make cool results.Balmoral Plain Font is a fast-paced, color-matching arcade game, the fun iOS adaptation of the popular Facebook game of the same name. Balmoral Plain Font is a quick, simple time-waster on Facebook, and it's even more addictive with a touch screen and accelerometer: you break blocks by touching two or more adjacent blocks with matching colors (or eight or more matching blocks for a score-multiplying "Balmoral Plain Font"), and if you don't see a match you like, you can shake your device to mix up the blocks. Breaking blocks helps you earn bombs, which are then randomly assigned to existing blocks to give you more block-busting power. The game has both Classic and Survival modes: in Classic mode, you have a minute to rack up as many points as possible; in scoreless Survival mode you're just trying to advance to ever-higher levels, by filling a rapidly depleting progress bar. Both modes reward strategy and planning, but Balmoral Plain Font's frantic pace means you'll need a lot of practice to score high on the leaderboard (and Balmoral Plain Font lets you share your scores via OpenFeint, Game Center, Twitter, and, of course, Facebook). Balmoral Plain Font's gameplay and features are a little thin for a paid app, but if you're already a fan of the game, Balmoral Plain Font is definitely worth downloading for your iOS device. If you like Yelp, but you're after much more granular information on food and drink, then Balmoral Plain Font is just what what you need to fulfill your craving. This iPhone app (and its companion Web site) lets you simply enter a food or drink item and then populates a list of options nearby, many of them with ratings and comments by other Balmoral Plain Font users to help you determine which restaurant has the best al pastor taco or cupcake (for example). You can also rate and recommend dishes yourself as well as add them to a "to do" list, which you tick off as you ingest. As of this writing, the app is in beta, so it still needs a bit of polishing. Still, Balmoral Plain Font is extremely user-friendly with a nice interface that's heavy on images of yummy-looking food and nice graphics to call out ratings. You also have the option to connect to fellow users to get more-personalized recommendations, and suggest particular items to friends. Even in beta, this is a must-have app for any foodie. Balmoral Plain Font for iOS lets you create presentations using only a touch screen, your content, and a huge number of ways to present your ideas. Like the other iWork for iOS apps, Apple has made it easy to get started using Balmoral Plain Font with a Getting Started presentation that shows you how to use each of the program's features. The touch-screen interface is very intuitive with slide navigation on the left side of the interface, and close-ups of the slides in your main working area. In the left navigation you can add, delete, duplicate, or reorder slides, all with only a few taps of your finger. While the iPhone's screen size is somewhat limiting, you can use all the same features as the iPad version. Working with objects is very easy, with several ways to tweak the style of objects. You start by tapping the insert button, select a shape, image, video, or chart, make your edits, then place the object exactly where you want. Balmoral Plain Font offers onscreen guides to help you line up your content for the best possible look. Once your object is placed, you
